Our History

We are the second Avatara (incarnation) of " the Over-35 Recreational Soccer League” in Brantford.

Although we were established in 2016, our roots date back to 1988 when George Campbell, Vic Faiella, Clive Lee and John Routledge started the Brantford Over-35 Recreational Soccer League. George Campbell was the President of the League. We had a humble beginning with four teams (sixty-four players) playing at D'Aubigny Creek Park (1988) and moved to Water Works Park (1991) followed by moves to Brantford Harlequins Rugby Football Field (1995) and Wifo Field in Paris (2005). The philosophy of the League, to promote fun, fitness and friendship through recreational soccer, was prominently displayed on our Logo.
During 1988 - 2010, the League, not only prospered financially, but also grew into two divisions with ten teams in the Over-35 division and four teams in the Masters’ Division.
During 2015 season, a significant number of players, mostly from the Masters’ Division, felt that the the executive of the league was not transparent and accountable to its members and, therefore, decided to form a new recreational soccer club where members’ right to be heard will be promoted and respected. As a result, “Brantford Over-35 Recreational Soccer” was formed in January 2016.

Current status

Our home is at George Jones Field at Brantford Harlequins Rugby Football Club. Our facility has three soccer pitches and a private club house with kitchen, bar and training room.

To date, we have one hundred eighty registered players (seven teams Fridays and five team Sundays) and twenty eight social members.
Article 4.3 of our constitution mandates our commitment to fiscal transparency and accountability. Executive privilege can not be used to deny any member access to League's financial statements.
We take pride as responsible citizens in continuing to support local charitable causes and promoting recreational sports for youth.
Our annual social events include a Dave Lee Golf Tour, a family picnic and socials at the beginning and end of the season (please visit our photo gallery).
